Figure & Portrait Painting with David Shevlino
The Expressive Figure & Portrait with David Shevlino
Oil Painting Workshop April 2027
Join master artist David Shevlino for an exclusive, 4-day masterclass in expressive-yet-lifelike figurative painting.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to receive personalized, 1-on-1 guidance that will transform how you approach realist painting.
Learn to balance realism with expressive brushwork
01 / The portrait
Master the art of bringing portraits to life through bold, confident brushwork. Rather than getting lost in minor details, you’ll learn to build strong structure and form using large brushes and purposeful, visible strokes.
02 / Figure painting part one
Translate your portraiture techniques to a full nude figure. This session covers key principles of anatomy, composition, and color mixing, keeping expressive, confident brushwork at the heart of the process.
03 / Figure painting part two
Deepen your study of the figure by integrating defined drapery and targeted final touches. David will demonstrate how to ensure your artwork retains energy, structure, and bold expressiveness through to completion.
